The good news continues to flow in for ExactET and our fast growing band of clients.

Our Canada-wide network of weather stations has grown (more on that in our next newsletter); we are talking to a number of national corporations interested in weather-based irrigation and ET Manager (Rain Bird's weather-based irrigation control system); we move into our new offices April 1; and, we will be participating in several SMART irrigation pilot projects this summer.
In Toronto, SMART Watering Systems and ExactET are to be included in a 2008 pilot water conservation rebate program to be monitored by York Region. The program, The Kleinburg Long Term Water Conservation Strategy is using a SMART Controller rebate program to reduce outdoor landscape water use and reduce peak day water demand on city water infrastructure.

Our associate, Chris Le Conte, President of SMART Watering Systems, is actively involved in the commissioning of the program. SMART Watering Systems will be providing landscape evaluations and installation expertise to ensure the success of the 2008 rebate program. The program will monitor the install and operation of 30 SMART controllers on large estate lots in the Kleinburg area. The aim is to create a low cost program in York Region that is "easy" for consumers to participate in and that meets irrigation Best Management Practices and water usage reduction goals.

While, for obvious reasons, most of our focus is now on the upcoming summer, we can't help but look back at more fantastic water savings results from 2007.

Here are few more examples of how three Calgary condominium complexes have benefited from the installation of ET Manager:

     Chelsea
        - Saved 4,665,695 litres of water (or 31%) over two years
        - Water cost savings of $6,530*

     Inglewood Grove
        - Saved 4,919, 846 litres of water (or 55%) in ONE year
        - Water cost savings of $7,107*

     The Terraces North
        - Saved 2,773,200 litres of water (or 78%) over 3 MONTHS
        - Water cost savings of $4,006*

      * - water cost savings based on City of Calgary irrigation water meter rates

Calgary churches are also taking advantage of our weather-based irrigation program:

     St. Mary's Cathedral
        - Saved 737,695 litres of water (or 46.5%) over ONE year
        - Cost savings of $1,066*

     Free Methodist Church
        - Saved 1,871,558 litres of water (or 43%) over ONE year
        - Cost savings of $2,704*
