Soil Moisture Balance

Watering frequency should be managed in response to changing weather conditions and rainfall. Weather Reach Receivers monitor evaporation and manage sprinkler systems, allowing watering only when needed. When the soil dries out to an allowable level it is time to water.

The chart at the right shows the effects of ET and rain on the irrigation requirement balance. As ET happens the requirement balance increases. Rainfall decreases the irrigation requirement balance. In this example, when the irrigation requirement balance reaches .5 inches watering occurs.
