RS-232 Connection

A serial port or RS-232 connection can be used to directly retrieve data from the Weather Reach Receiver. An irrigation controller must have an RS-232 port configured to access the data. The MODBus protocol is used. The Weather Reach Receiver is the “slave”, waiting to respond to requests for specific data.

As weather data is received, the Receiver calculates ET. Compatible controllers or serial devices directly access ET and weather data to automatically adjust irrigation schedules.

The RS-232 port accepts an RJ-45 cable connection.
